Search by Conundrum
Enter a valid conundrum solution and see all possible scrambles for it according to your chosen styles and restrictions.
Search by Subword
Enter any 3-8 letters and find all conundrums that contain those letters. Scrambles where
the remaining letters form a word are highlighted.
Styles
Two words
The 9 letters are split into two words placed side by side, e.g. BREATHING gives
NIGHTBEAR.
Substitute letter
Start from a 9-letter word, swap one letter for another of the same type (vowel↔vowel or
consonant↔consonant) to reach the solution's letters, e.g. MAGNITUDE gives
AUGMINTED.
Stem
An 8-letter word with one extra letter appended, e.g. POLICEMAN gives
COMPLAINE.
Double stem
A 7-letter word with two extra letters appended, e.g. QUAVERING gives
VINEGARQU.
Three words
The 9 letters are split into three words, e.g. COGITATED gives
TIECATDOG.
Restrictions
Avoid profanity
Excludes words flagged as profanity/offensive from both the conundrum pool and subword lookup.
Difficulty
Filters results to only include conundrums rated at the approximate difficulty levels (🟩 Easy → 🟨 Medium → 🟧 Hard → 🟥 Very Hard).
Obscure subwords
Determines whether obscure subwords are allowed when constructing scrambles. Allow - obscure subwords are permitted freely. Only if required - tries without obscure words first, falls
back if needed. Never allow - obscure subwords are always excluded. This setting doesn't affect the obscurity of the conundrum solution.
Min. jumbledness
Jumbledness measures how different the scramble looks from the solution (0–100%). Higher values mean fewer
shared adjacent letter-pairs with the solution. Note that reducing this value below 70% may make the scramble look very similar to the solution.
